My iPhone / iPad / MacBook keep disconnecting from WiFi

||| Please deactivate Wifi Assistant (= automatic switchover to mobile data) : | Go to Settings > Cellular or Settings > Mobile Data. Then scroll down the screen and touch the Wi-Fi Assist option cursor.

Activated by default, this feature causes unwanted disconnections.

Why does this happen? When you are connected to the Internet via Wi-Fi and your device automatically switches to 4/5 G (for example, when you are inside your accommodation, the Wi-Fi signal is less strong and the connection may slow down), you remain connected to the Internet, but via 4/5 G, and the Wi-Fi network, after a certain time, no longer ‘sees’ your device as being active on the network. As a result, it considers that the code is no longer in use and deactivates the Internet connection, in order to optimise the campsite's overall bandwidth. You will then need to reconnect to the WiFi network to tell the network that your code is active. What's more, this will mislead you: you think you're using the Internet connection via Wifi, when in fact you're (unknowingly) using 4/5 G.

Apple known issues on devices running iOS 17

GEO-RESTRICTION - STREAMING - ITVX - VPN - BUFFERING

Very significant slowdown in download speed
Unable to access an application or service

| WHAT SOLUTIONS?

Disable VPN on your device before connecting to Wi-Fi network
Download your content before leaving the country so you can watch it during your stay.
If you wish to access foreign television shows or video streaming services, you can download applications available in France offering the channels or foreign languages you want and take out the desired subscription.
You can take out a personal subscription with a French mobile operator (Box 4/5G) with a mobile data plan compatible with the use of video streaming services. The mobile network is weak or slow in the campsite, what should I do?

Accepted Answer

The area in which you are staying may be less well covered by the antenna network of one or more mobile operators. It is also frequent that the mobile network is totally saturated during the high tourist season. Internet connection is slow, phone calls are disconnected, go straight to voicemail or the sound quality of calls is poor.

|| These situations are completely beyond our control and that of the campsite** where you are staying. Network coverage is the responsibility of your mobile phone operator, and you should contact them in the event of poor reception or saturation.

| We strongly advise you to use the campsite's WiFi connection, to deactivate mobile data on your mobile phone during your stay and to activate calls/SMS via WiFi or to use an instant messaging application over WiFi to communicate.

The WiFi connection is sized and regulated to meet the needs of each connected user. The bandwidth allocated to each device allows the following uses:

consultation of websites
access to email and/or instant messaging
audio and video calls and messages
access to social networks
reading streaming content (audio, video) in standard quality
downloading content from VOD and music platforms

Question 5

I can't receive the campsite's WiFi signal, what should I do?

Before contacting us, please carry out the following checks:

Restart your device
Turn off mobile data
Activate Wifi and let the available networks display.

If no available networks are displayed:

Is the signal completely absent when you are outside or does it disappear when you enter your accommodation? In this case, try to connect externally. You are closer to WiFi hotspots and will receive a better connection.
Is the signal also completely absent near other locations? It is possible that an incident has occurred on the network, such as a power outage or equipment failure.

Question 6

How to connect a gaming console, connected TV or ChromeCast to the Wifi network?

Accepted Answer

This is only possible in some campsites. We invite you to inquire in advance at reception or by contacting us directly.

Some connected devices require a specific authentication procedure before they can connect to the Wifi network. You will need to subscribe a code dedicated to this connected device, then send us a message indicating:

your Wifi ID;
the campsite and the mobile home or pitch number;
the MAC Wifi address of the device you want to connect.

||| Warning ! Not all connected devices are designed to work with a public outdoor WiFi network such as that of a campsite.
